Diaries Book vol2

(ongoing)

The second part of this work expands on methods developed from areas of knowledge where empiricism is as important as experience: Self-hypnosis and numerology as disciplines of knowledge that once in history were accepted as scientific will be used as ways of knowing and understanding.
The rules for this work are not fixed, the work changes itself as it unfolds. The outcomes are left open as much as possible and will result of discussion of the project with others and from problems that possibly will arise. Errors as well as problems are part of our human life. They should be part of the work as well.

Each one of us is different reacting to different situations circumstances. Diaries Book documents the process of knowing the author from other people's perspective through palm readings, and from the author's self perspective, through a diary.
The idea for Diaries Book is inspired by the work of the Japanese Murasaki Shikibu, author of the first ever written romance called The Tale of Genji. As in Murasaki's work, here too, daily life is mixed with fiction.
Diaries Book is a celebration of daily life, women's achievements, fictional biography and areas of knowledge where empiricism is as important as experience.

Collaborative work with Isabel Carvalho

The ship we’ve built is the ship we identify with. A community/crew with a specific distinctiveness construed from our own reality.”
Ever since we begin this project that we were open towards the chipping in by other pirates. New members can join our ship, or anchor nearby their own vessels, or even gather up all resilient lubbers that have their word to say, their idea to present.
We’re sure that this way of seeing things is shared by many others, with similar, if not equivalent, states of mind. No order is imposed in our midst, only the enjoyment in not having any order or laws.
What we want it to have an ever-expanding, ever-progressing work.
The ship is this one, and she’s ours, but perhaps she can be a plank onwards, onto other ships and beyond.

This web site is the medium that transmits a story that dives into multiplicity without a compass: gender multiplicity, multiple identities, multiplicity of narratives (and the extremes this generates, in relationships and in life). All this to deconstruct binomial equations, real ones, live ones.

My Diamonds Are Forever Yours is a set of rules to play with to generate different outcomes. It results from a broader pool of material that users are invited to work with, through the web and beyond it. When a user generates one of many possible narratives, a network of meanings is generated. The unchanged rules, a coherent background of unseen meaning and the new narrative, a new foreground of prominent meaning.
