Abertura is a one day event which presents VJing and realtime audiovisual performance by national and international artists.
Abertura means "openness" or "opening" and is the first event to happen in Portuguese territory to have an experimental perspective on VJing and realtime interactive performance.
abertura3: the lock is the third and last edition of the event.
Through AV performances, presentations and installations the idea of "Hacktion" will be explored, as in action related to activism and/or hacking, utilizing available technologies and gathering energy from the various communities, collectives and collaborative ventures.
abertura2 is the second edition of this event (July 2008) and explores issues related to communities, collectivities and collaborations. This year's program includes talks, workshops and round tables as well as AV realtime performances. This event also hosted first SHARE.Lisbon.
abertura (July 2007) explored a variety of technical approaches to making "live visuals", whether "live" as in someone actually present to manipulate and process audio and visual display or "live" as in happening live in an installation setting.
