The theme for abertura2 is "communities, collectives and collaboration". Through round table discussions, workshops and presentations, theory can be developed and combined with practice, with focus on the technologies (last year's "abertura 2007" theme) and visible on the artists performances.

Abertura means "openness or opening" and is the first event to happen in Portuguese territory to present an experimental perspective on VJing and realtime interactive performance.

The website is an online introduction to the event, where users can find line up as well as a brief description to the participating artists. The blog documents the ongoing work and is directed to participants.
